Federal government of Pakistan has announced that students of secondary and higher secondary classes shall be promoted on basis of average marking criteria. The Education Minister Mr. Shafqat Mahmood announced this on Thursday, May 7, 2020 that board exams shall not be conducted and students shall be promoted to next classes, as government cannot risk conducting exams by gathering hundreds of thousands of students during this pandemic.

‘Considering the safety of students as well as of teachers, we have decided not to conduct board exams of class 9, 10, 11 and 12 respectively for academic year 2019-20.’ He said students shall be promoted based on their grades in previous classes using averaging marking criteria for promotion into next class.
