Educational Institutions Reopening in 1st Week of September

Educational institutes across Pakistan will reopen in the first week of September. This decision has been taken in recent inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) chaired by federal education minister Shafqat Mahmood in which provincial education ministers from all provinces were present.

It has been decided to reopen the schools with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Covid-19 in place. It has been added that final decision will be taken by National Command and Control Center (NCOS) regarding reopening of schools after reviewing corona pandemic situation in throughout country.

Previously, it was decided to open educational institutions by July 15, 2020. Last month, federal minister for education said opening schools with strict SOPs is in consideration by government and for respective action, suggestions have been sought from private institutions as well as Madaris of provinces. He further briefed that education ministry is in consultation with UNICEF to review countries that have opened educational institutions following SOPs.

Strict policy and SOPs shall be shared soon by government and education ministry.
